As part of the study of the discipline "Legal Basics of Health Care", on 26 March 2024, 3rd year students majoring in 081 "Law" of the School of Law, together with the leading teacher of this discipline, Deputy Dean for Academic and Organisational Work, PhD, Associate Professor Nina Trotsiuk, took part in an online seminar "Maintaining Health through the Prism of Self-Treatment: Opportunities, Risks, Benefits".
The event was moderated by Natalia Kosyachenko, Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences, specialist of the highest category, teacher-methodologist, teacher of the Zhytomyr Basic Pharmaceutical College of the Zhytomyr Regional Council, and was attended by more than 80 representatives from various higher and professional pre-higher education institutions of Ukraine.
Opening the seminar, the acting director of the college, Iryna Boychuk, drew attention to the importance of the topic announced in the announcement and called on everyone to actively participate in its discussion. The speakers were: Iryna Lutsak - Candidate of Pharm. D., pharmacist, clinical research professional, deputy director for educational work, lecturer-methodologist of the Zhytomyr Basic Pharmaceutical College, member of the Association of Pharmacologists of Ukraine and the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology "IUPHAR" and the Pharmaceutical League of Ukraine; Tetyana Zubrytska - pharmacist, clinical research professional, lecturer of the highest qualification category of the Zhytomyr Basic Pharmaceutical College; Nadiia Senkiv - pharmacist, head of the pharmaceutical laboratory department of the Zhytomyr Basic Pharmaceutical College, lecturer of the first qualification category; Nataliia Kosyachenko - Ph. D. in Pharmacy, Pharmacist, Head of Practice (educational, industrial) of the Zhytomyr Basic Pharmaceutical College, Head of the Central Committee of Pharmaceutical Disciplines, Lecturer-Methodologist of the Zhytomyr Basic Pharmaceutical College, full member of the Pharmaceutical League of Ukraine.
In their speeches, the speakers outlined important issues of maintaining and preserving health through a balanced approach to the use of medicines, drew attention to the educational role of a pharmacy assistant, awareness of drug consumers, demonstrated the differences between medicines, dietary supplements and medical devices, as well as the implementation of responsible self-medication on the example of common respiratory diseases.
