On January 26, 2024, Iryna Varava, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law of the Faculty of Law, conducted career guidance work with high school students of Stavyshche Lyceum №2 of the Stavyshche Village Council of the Bila Tserkva district of Kyiv Region on the topic "Peculiarities of Professional Training of Lawyers".
In her opening remarks, the teacher noted that the professional activity of a lawyer has a certain specificity and is accompanied by various actions, such as: communication with a citizen who has applied for help; legal advice; preventive conversation; administrative analysis of an offense, etc. Each of these actions reflects the peculiarities of a lawyer's professional activity, and it is important to know that mastery of psychological techniques that are purely legal in nature is as necessary as the ability to perform investigative, detective and other regulatory actions in accordance with the procedure.
Answering numerous questions, Iryna Varava highlighted the components that together constitute the subject matter of a lawyer's professional activity and drew attention to the fact that the legal tasks of professional legal activity are formed on the basis of analytical actions and certain algorithms in resolving a dispute. It was noted that such tasks include: law-making tasks or tasks that ensure the elimination of gaps in existing legislation; tasks aimed at specifying legal norms in relation to predetermined goals; law-organizational tasks aimed at revealing certain implicit resources necessary for the realization of the desired goals, etc.
