On December 15, 2023, the Faculty of Law held a scientific and practical seminar on the topic "Actual issues of improving law enforcement in Ukraine."
Representatives of higher education institutions, state and public organizations, and law enforcement agencies took part in the scientific event, including: Mykola Maliy - doctor of philosophy in law, head of the legal clinic "Phoenix" of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, director of the legal company "AYUR-CONSULTING" LLC "; Raisa Perelighina – candidate of legal sciences, head of the department of postgraduate studies, associate professor of the department of criminal law and process of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Oleksandra Yanchuk – candidate of legal sciences, associate professor, lawyer; Anna Panchishna - investigator of the investigation sector of police department No. 2 of the Chuguyiv RUP of the GUNP in X/region; Alyona Bahayeva – candidate of legal sciences, senior lecturer of the department of police activity and public administration of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs; scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, graduate students and students of higher education, specialty 262 "Law Enforcement Activity" of the Faculty of Law.
The participants discussed topical issues of improving law enforcement activities in Ukraine, namely: features of the application of the aggravating circumstance "under martial law" when qualifying crimes against property; the use of martial law as an aggravating circumstance; actual problems of improving the norm regarding looting according to the Criminal Code of Ukraine; functions of law enforcement agencies regarding the disclosure of collaborative activities; functional duties of law enforcement agencies in countering informational threats to the national security of Ukraine.
Based on the results of the scientific event, the attendees proposed valid proposals for improving law enforcement activities in Ukraine. It was also decided to publish scientific articles on the topic of speeches in the professional magazine "Legal Bulletin "Air and Space Law"".
