In order to combine theoretical and practical training of applicants for higher education of the second (master's) level of education in the specialty 081 "Law" and 262 "Law Enforcement" of the Faculty of Law, on March 20, 2023, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure Iryna Litvinova together with psychology, trainer of the National Coaching Network, PSS coordinator in the project "LEAP" CO "CF "ADRA Ukraine" on combating domestic violence Nelya Troychuk held a binary lesson on discipline "Combating domestic violence in Ukraine".
Freedom from violence is a fundamental human right. Domestic violence is one of the most frequent crimes committed every day," Ms. Nelya said.
In the context of law enforcement practice, the speaker analyzed certain issues of combating domestic violence, paid special attention to the legislation on prevention and counteraction to domestic violence, which consists of a system of relevant legal acts: the Constitution of Ukraine, the Law of Ukraine "On Prevention and Counteraction to Domestic Violence", the Istanbul Convention, departmental regulations. These normative legal acts determine the content of the activities of public authorities to identify the facts of domestic violence, stop these actions, provide assistance to persons who find themselves in difficult life situations, provide assistance to victims of domestic violence, and pass a collection program.
The legislation on the prevention of domestic violence gives citizens quite ample opportunities to apply to these bodies and institutions for help in a situation of domestic violence, which entails taking certain measures to prevent it and overcome this shameful phenomenon in society," the students said during the conversation.
The involvement of practical workers in conducting classes significantly increases the efficiency of the educational process, because applicants have the opportunity to receive answers from qualified specialists and use their experience in future work.
