On March 29, 2022, scientific and pedagogical workers of the Faculty of Law took part in a webinar devoted to the topic "Credit obligations in war: features and opportunities."
The event was moderated by a stakeholder and graduate of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law in 2018, a member of the Ukrainian Women Lawyers Association “JurFem”, the major attorney in litigation in cases of debt collection and bankruptcy of legal entities and the recognition of individuals as insolvent, junior lieutenant of the reserve of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Victoriia Lisova.
The speaker revealed the features of the introduction by banks (Pryvatbank, Sberbank, Monobank, Pumb) of credit holidays, repayment of a loan, accrual of interest for using a loan, and other payments on a loan during a state of war. She also spoke about a simplified system of loan repayment, renewal of the validity of bank cards, analyzed the understanding of "acquiring" and legal norms for the return of a loan (mortgage and collateral) in the event of a decrease in the object of securing the performance of obligations under a loan agreement, and the like.
“Given the situation that has developed in the state and to provide certain guarantees for Ukrainian borrowers during the war and post-war economic recovery, on March 15, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine and other legislative acts of Ukraine following the norms for the period of martial law” No. 2120-IX, which changes several rules for the operation of banks providing lending services. Also on February 28, 2022, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry issued document No. 2024 / 02.0-7.1, which confirmed the classification of the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and the introduction of martial law as a force majeure event," Victoriia noted.
