On November 25, 2021, the Research Center for Anti-Corruption Activities in Transport and Aerospace at the Faculty of Law held a scientific-practical round table "Doctrinal Problems of Research on Corruption Offenses" by video conference.
The event began with a speech by Judge of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine Inna Bilous, who presented the topic of the report "Problematic issues in proceedings on corruption offenses", focusing on the main features in distinguishing the qualification of corruption offenses under Art. 364 (abuse of power or official position) and Art. 191 (appropriation, misappropriation of property or taking it by abuse of office) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The round table was also attended by: Olga Bondarenko - Doctor of Law, Acting Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Judiciary of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law of Sumy State University, Oleksiy Heselev - Chief Consultant of the Legislation Monitoring Department of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Candidate of Law, Igor Oderiy - Head of the Sector for Prevention and Detection of Corruption Victoria Sotnikova - Master of Political Science of the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy", Vadym Pryimak - Colonel of Justice, Associate Professor of the National University of Defense. I. Chernyakhivsky, Anatoliy Cheban - Head of the Department for Prevention and Detection of Corruption of NAU, teachers and graduates of the Faculty of Law.
The participants discussed problematic issues in the consideration of corruption offenses, some aspects of the study of corruption in the medical field, the concept of criminal law against corruption in Ukraine, anti-corruption policy at the National Aviation University, analyzed the concept of "illegal gain", investigated corruption schemes using crypto problems of legal certainty of legal definitions of corruption criminal offenses and definition of officials as subjects of corruption offenses, legal support of corruption prevention in military administration bodies is considered.
Summing up the work of the scientific-practical round table, its participants outlined effective ways to prevent corruption in Ukraine.
