March 5, 2021, the Department of Civil Law and Process of the Faculty of Law held a scientific and methodological seminar on the topic "New trends in the development of intellectual property law in the context of globalization" via video conference mode.

During the discussion of the latest trends in the development of intellectual property law in the context of globalization, special attention was paid to the protection of rights from Internet violations, content on the Internet, the specifics of the protection of rights to a computer program, know-how in Ukraine, protection of rights to the layout of semiconductor products. The problematic aspects of the dissemination of inaccurate information about a person via the Internet, the construction of a patent formula, and the exercise of the subjective right to compilation turned out to be debatable.
Also subject to consideration were the problems of the future activities of the Supreme Court on intellectual property, material liability for violation of commercial secrets, and inheritance of rights to the means of individualization of participants in civil turnover. Of particular interest, in particular for students, was a report on the hybrid nature of modern threats to cybersecurity and information security.
Based on the results of the scientific and methodological seminar, the participants determined the prospects for further research on the problems and features of the institution of intellectual property by conducting scientific and practical events with the involvement of lawyers and recognized specialists in the field of information technology.
