October 29, 2020, the Department of Civil Law and Process of the Faculty of Law held a scientific and practical seminar on the topic "Modern problems of intellectual property rights and ways to overcome them" in the video conference mode.

When discussing the issues of violation of property and non-property copyrights on the Internet and the protection of intellectual property rights in Ukraine in general, special attention was paid to cyber hygiene as an important means of ensuring the safety of persons and content on the Internet, taking into account practical experience and existing judicial practice in the field of protection of rights and freedoms of a person. The problematic aspects of the legal nature of domain names, the impact of the GDPR on the protection of the rights of subjects, the inheritance of intellectual property rights, protection of trade secrets, and ensuring the right to honor and dignity, and business reputation of the author in case of dissemination of inaccurate information about him were also discussed.
Based on the results of the scientific and practical seminar, the participants discussed the prospects for further research on the problems of the Institute of Intellectual Property by conducting scientific and practical events with the involvement of practicing lawyers and specialists in the field of legislative initiatives, analyzing available scientific works, judicial precedents, as well as improving qualifications in Ukraine and abroad.
