Another event aimed at promoting human rights activities was a meeting of students of Law Faculty with a representative of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union (UHHRU), a lawyer at the Center for Strategic Affairs – Vitalia Lebid.
The speaker informed students about the main tasks and functions of the Center for Strategic Affairs of the UHHRU, and shared the experience of participation in various human rights initiatives, in particular, the UHHRU Volunteer Project “Prisoners of war” aimed at freeing Ukrainian soldiers from captivity and the search for missing persons in the ATO area by applying to the European Court of Human Rights.
Vitalia Lebid also paid students’ attention to the practical issues of protecting the right to life, in particular, within the framework of activity of the European Court of Human Rights. Students were especially interested in the analysis of cases prepared by the UHHRU.
At the end of the meeting, the questions of further cooperation and signing of memorandum between National Aviation University and the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union were discussed.
