On March 20, 2019, the Department of Civil Law and process of the Law Faculty organized an exhibition of scientific literature entitled "Features of Higher Education Development in Modern Conditions" with the participation of Natalia Shust, Professor of the Department of Civil Law and Process, a post-graduate student of Institute of State and Law. V.M. Koretsky National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Alla Smorodina and students of the Faculty.
Students had the opportunity to get acquainted with monographs and scientific journals on pedagogy, education, methods of teaching legal disciplines and review textbooks of the authors of this industry, and most importantly, to gain knowledge on student mobility in the educational space and participation in international projects.
The main idea arised during the discussion is the idea of social challenges both in Ukraine and the world as a whole - from unemployment and social inequality to issues related to migration and increasing political polarization, radicalization and violent extremism - higher education can and should play a decisive role in solving these problems. At the same time, higher education should play a key role in establishing the facts on the basis of which public debates are held and important government decisions are made, therefore it is also the engine of social change, because high-quality higher education is a quality system of management, production, communication and improvement of life of the population.
In the process of forming a renewed system of education and science, the dynamics of the process of social change makes it difficult to predict what values and standards of behavior can ensure the adequacy of behavior in the near future. And the condition for the improvement of the national system of higher education, science and the search for new effective ways to improve the quality of education and its acquisition becomes the socio-cultural support of individuality and the formation of social competence of the individual.
