On March 1, 2021, the Faculty of law held a meeting of the Mediation Center dedicated to Shevchenko days and Consumer Protection day.
Elizaveta Tanashchuk, a student of the PR-203 group, prepared an interesting and informative presentation about the life and creative path of Taras Shevchenko, because March 9, 2021 marks the 207th anniversary of the birth of the national genius and Prophet, the spiritual father of ukrainism. Shevchenko is the founder of the new Ukrainian literature, whose activities have become a challenge to the national movement and national revival. The creative heritage of Taras Shevchenko, the student noted, has long been an incorruptible and important part of the spiritual culture of the Ukrainian people, Shevchenko for us is not only what they study, but also what they live by. At the end of the speech, Elizaveta recited lines of Shevchenko's poetry.
Victoria Vova, a student of the PR-401 group, spoke about World Consumer Rights Day, the history of which begins on March 15, 1962, when US President John F. Kennedy, addressing Congress and consumer associations, first proclaimed the basic rights of consumers. In many countries of the world, issues related to consumer protection, the state of affairs in the consumer market and the development of the consumer movement are raised on this day. State and public institutions around the world bring up the most important issues for discussion – from legislative initiatives to the problems of individual regions. The right to consume quality products and services is one of the components of social human rights, as inalienable as the right to life, medical care, freedom of speech, etc. This holiday concerns all citizens, the student stressed, because everyone, regardless of gender and age, education and social status, consumes goods and services throughout their lives.
At the end of the event, the participants of the Mediation Center noted the importance of discussing educational issues that shape the future elite of the Ukrainian state, as well as professionals in the field of law.
