On December 15, 2020 on the occasion of the All-Ukrainian Law Week Associate Professor of Theory and History of State and Law Lyudmila Shapenko together with 1st year students of the Faculty of Law Nadia Zakharchuk and Mikhail Prysom held a competition on jurisprudence "Legal Olympus" among high school students of I-III grades school № 308 of Desnianskyi district Kyiv.
This event was held in order to consolidate knowledge about rights, freedoms and responsibilities of humans and citizens, raising the general level of legal awareness and legal culture, as well as the education of the younger generation of respect for law, awareness of its values and role in the formation of the rule of law and civil society.
The competition was held in three rounds, in each of which the students demonstrated theirs knowledge of jurisprudence and history of state and law-making in Ukraine. The most interesting was the third round, in which the finalists had the opportunity to deliver a speech on the topic: "Ukraine as a social state governed by the rule of law" and make their own points of view on further development of Ukraine on the background of the present.
Results of the three rounds showed that the winners were Ivan Bezugly (1st place), Oleksandr Kokhtyukh (2nd place) and Danylo Yushko (3rd place).
