At the beginning of the 2nd semester the Faculty of law held a methodological seminar for mentors and group commanders on the topic "Problems of student-centered learning: practical aspects".
The seminar was attended by: Dean of the faculty Irina Sopilko, head of the Department for work with students of NAU Elena Kalinichenko, master of psychology, wellness coach, practical psychologist of the Department of military training Miroslava Romanyuk, senior mentor Elena Makeeva, mentors and group commanders.
During the event, the participants discussed the importance of student-centered learning in higher education institutions, current problems of student-centered learning as a means of implementing a competency-based approach to learning, and the use of the clil system while teaching on an English-language project. Especially informative was the training from Miroslava Romanyuk, who conducted testing with those present and revealed the role of wellness as a component of the concept of student-centered learning. The participants had a lively discussion about practical problems and prospects of student-centered education at the Faculty of law, in particular, questionnaires, meetings with practicing lawyers, training sessions, modern teaching methods, and so on. Such events help to improve the professional skills of future lawyers who will be competitive in the legal services market.
