Legal nihilism and ways to overcome it |

During October 2019, Assistant Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law of the Faculty of Law Olena Makeieva conducted a vocational training in a specialized school with advanced study of Ukrainian language and literature № 260 of Kyiv and the school № 319 named after Valeriy Lobanovskyi of Kyiv. The students of the secondary school № 319 conducted a thematic conversation on the topic: "Legal nihilism and ways to overcome it", which defined the concept of legal nihilism, its causes among Ukrainian youth, as well as the role of legal culture and legal education for the modern young generation. A special lecture was held with the students of the specialized school № 260 on the topic: "Legal responsibility: concepts and types", during which students learned about the concept of legal responsibility, its types and grounds, features of legal liability of minors. In addition, an agreement was reached to conclude an agreement on cooperation with the specialized school № 260 in Kyiv and outline directions for further cooperation, in particular, the participation of students in the creative contest "Word about Ukraine", traditionally held by the Faculty of Law before the Day of Unity of Ukraine. At the end of the meetings, Olena Makeieva spoke about the benefits of studying at the Faculty of Law of NAU. Career guidance events shape the students' legal culture, prevent legal nihilism, and help them determine their future profession. |
