May 14, 2019 in the educational laboratory of methodological support of the educational process of the Law Faculty, within the exhibition of publications devoted to the Day of Europe, the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law held a seminar on the topic “European Standards of Statehood”.
The seminar was conducted by Professor of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law of the Faculty of Law Alexander Radziwill and a specialist of the 1st category of the academic mobility sector of the Institute of Advanced Technologies and Leadership Yana Pysanko.
Describing the main trends in the development of the European tradition of statehood, Alexander Radziwill noted that modern concepts of public administration, formed within the acquis of European law over the past few decades, are based on the idea of partnership between the state and civil society, an important condition of which is a significant limitation of state coercion, constant the feedback between the government and the population and the distribution of competencies, which for a long time were thought of as inherent exclusively to state power - between different levels of collective legal personality - from territorial communities and regional associations within individual states - to state bodies of the members of the European Union and the institutions of the Union itself.
Yana Pysanko introduced students with new publications concerning the principles of public services in the European Union member states and research programs in this field, which are supported by grants.
During the seminar, a number of issues were discussed regarding the state power in Ukraine, in particular, the efficiency of the parliament, accessibility and effectiveness of justice, media involvement, general issues of public confidence in all branches of government.
