December 10 and 12, 2018, within the framework of vocational guidance work and the All-Ukrainian Law Week, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Process of the Educational and Scientific Law Institute Irina Litvinova held legal lectures for students of 10-11 grades of the specialized school No. 23 with in-depth study of the English language in Of Kiev on the topic “Legal education of youth in modern conditions” and pupils of 10-11 grades of specialized school No. 207 with in-depth study of the English language in Kiev on the topic «Criminal responsibility stkov».
The need for lectures is due to the development of a legal state, the existence of which is impossible without an appropriate level of legal culture of its citizens, a transformation of the legal system, the need to overcome legal nihilism and legal illiteracy.
During the course of legal lectures, questions were considered and discussed on the accession of pupils to a legal culture that enriches their spiritual life, and their knowledge of their rights and obligations expands the possibilities for their self-realization. Now studying young people lack legal knowledge and experience in legal relations, they must learn the legal laws governing their social relations as minors, and the legal norms that they will have to follow in the future.
It is no coincidence that lectures are held exactly in the week of law, because they are designed to help the adolescents ’legal awareness form by specifying moral and legal norms in relation to their direct behavior, to form an understanding of responsibility for their actions and their consequences.
At the end of the event, an active and fruitful discussion took place on practical preventive work on countering criminal offenses.
