On September 28, 2018 students of the academic group PR-401 Educational and Research Institute of Law, led by mentor Olena Makeieva, went on excursion to the memorial complex Babyn Yar and paid tribute to the victims.Babyn Yar is one of the most famous places of memory associated with human tragedies. On the territory of the National Historical and Memorial Reserve, there are monuments and memorials reminding about the events of the Nazi occupation of Kyiv, when in the tract they shot people on ethnic grounds (Jews and Roma), OUN figures and Soviet prisoners of war, mentally ill and the one who were breaking the rule of curfew. During the excursion, students remembered the tragic pages from the history of Ukraine, as well as honored the memory of the 21-year-old Tatiana Marcus, the only woman to be named the Hero of Ukraine for taking part in the war, with a minute of silence. Honoring and remembering the heroic past of our own nation helps student youth to form an active civil position, demonstrates their attitude to cultural values.
