In November 2017, students of the group PR-404 of Educational and Research Institute of Law, accompanied by a tutor Oksana Myronets, visited the monument to Pronya Prokopivna and Golokhvastov, as well as the bust of B.Ye. Paton.
Students learned that the architectural structure of the characters of the comedy play “For Two Hares” by the Ukrainian playwright M. Staritsky, Golohastov S. and his bride, Proniya, were designed by V.Skulsky, V.Schur and V.Sivk. The monument was opened on August 23, 1999, however, and today it attracts visitors who, according to guides, have the opportunity to make a wish to lose a wedding ring and a bug on it. Also, the senior students got information that in 1982 practically in the center of our capital was installed a bust to the great Soviet and Ukrainian scientist in the field of metallurgy and technology of metals, doctor of technical sciences, professor B.Ye. Paton The students were surprised at the fact that he was the only Kyivan, immortalized in this way in accordance with Soviet laws for heroic achievements in the scientific sphere. A monument of bronze and granite was built. The visit of the monuments carries a deep cultural formulation for the youth, who must be aware of both the heroes of literature and the leading figures of the sciences.
