On 20th March 2015the lecturer of the department of the Theory and History of State and Law of Law institute Lyudmyla Shapenko and the student Olga Chyhyryn organized and carried out a discussion “Problems of children’s rights protection in Ukraine” for senior students of school №5 in Obuchiv, Kyiv region.
During the meeting the senior students were informed about the main principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and legislation of Ukraine in this sphere that deal with social and legal securities of children’s rights, physical, intellectual, cultural development of young generation, incentives to create social and economic and legal institutions, the main task of which is the protection of rights and legal interests of the child. The students were also explained the main problems of children’s rights protection existing in our country: ignoring of child’s right to private life, violence against children, social support of disabled children, upbringing of social orphans, care under orphans and other problems of protection of rights and interests of children who need assistant of the state and society. At the end of the meeting Lyudmyla Shapenko told about advantages of legal profession and invited the future school leavers to visit Doors open day in Law institute NAU on 25th April 2015.
